I have been playing with various art forms for over twenty years now.  I was fortunate enough to have grown up in Seattle, an area
where the arts are a very important part of the community.  I first started making jewelry in high school, where I was also introduced to
oil painting, pottery and stained glass.  I continue to paint and make pottery, in my spare time.

It was not until I moved from the Seattle area that I started to create lampworked beads in 2003.   Since I had always been interested in
the art glass influence in the Northwest, and the practice of using beads for trade throughout history (I was an anthropology major,)
creating glass beads seemed to be the next logical step!  So, I quit my desk job and decided to make beads full time.

I enjoy finding inspiration in art of history and culture, whether it is fine art, music, dance, or creation of beauty in everyday life.  I
primarily use Effetre and Vetrofond Italian glass, and experiment with soft silvered glass, metal leaf and foils when creating organic
beads.
Will o' the Wisp is a home based business. I enjoy sharing my studio basement with my artistic husband, Jared, who is a chef, musician,
leather worker, and aspiring brew master.

An explanation about the name...

Will o' the Wisp is a term used primarily in the British Isles to describe the mysterious flickering lights that often appear over marshy
ground. Folklore suggests that these lights led travelers off of their safe path and into the dangerous unknown.  Although this would be
the demise of many travelers, it was said that those brave enough to follow the lights would eventually be led to treasure...

So, I am off on my path, following the Will o' the Wisp.  Wish me luck. : )
